What kind of a channel is Newsworld International?

I'm getting Digital Cable next week and I'm hoping to get some non-corporate news stations. I'm getting 2 more C-Span channels and the BBC America (but I'm told that doesn't play much news). But I saw that I'm getting Newsworld International, a channel for which I have never seen. I would appreciate any input from people here who have seen or been exposed to this channel.

1. It's awesome!

It's the only news I watch besides C-Span and the Daily Show (no, really!).

It's a Canadian outfit that shows news broadcasts from all over the world, in English. Obviously a lot of Canadian stuff, but there is a German news program, Chinese & Japanese news, Middle East news, etc. It is so refreshing to get an international persepective on things. You really find out what's going on in the world, as opposed to Laci/Kobe/Crazy Michael Jackson crap.

It's a must-watch.

Canadian for now, which is cool.

3. Did that deal go through?

I remember hearing about Al Gore wanting to buy it a while back but then I heard it fell through...what's the scuttlebutt on that?

5. Get it! It's Canadian and very evenhanded. You'll get all the news

without the pundits. We watch it a lot. After seeing it for a while, switch over to Fox and see exactly how fascistic the US has gotten.

6. That's one of only two channels I wish DISH had

It's very good.. and so is CBC..

maybe someday Dish will get those two..:)

It was the only news station I could stand to watch during the Iraq invasion.
