1. if you can get a real hand-rolled green tea
it's amazing -- I like it so bitter and strong that it's a metaphysical experience, and I think I'm a little bit addicted.

Has anyone here done the Japanese tea ceremony (chano-yu ceremony)?

That's another fave tea.

2. Other
I don't care much for herbal tea. I like the real thing and I like everything from Japanese Sencha to Indian Darjeeling to Tiwain Oolong. There's a world of wonder in fine teas.

7. right with you
the only real "herbal" I like at all is strong African rouibus (redbush) tea.

I especially love the darjeelings and oolongs - each one has a "mood", and like wine and coffee you can really taste the difference in flavor complexity between off the shelf teas and hand picked teas.

When I was in Pakistan on work a few years ago, there is no coffee anywhere (except instant). The tea however, is boiled until it is nearly tar and opaque, and served with a bit of cream -- it is out of this world, and makes strong coffee look like coors light. That was the start of my tea obsession.

6. Red Zinger-- iced!
Here in Tejas it gets awful hot in the summer.

This stuff hits the spot when you don't want Coke, water or regular iced tea. Yum!

8. Ginger tea
Made from fresh ginger.
Or ginger with lemongrass.
Mint, lemon balm, elder or linden flowers are nice as well. When I still drank Green Tea, I loved Chinese Pi Lo Chun.

I have to go caffine free these days. It's one of the ways I keep my weight under control. I like all the different flavors. :9

11. other:
all of the above and more.

Green tea isn't herbal; it's just processed differently than black tea. Black tea is fermented; oolong is partially fermented, green isn't fermented. I prefer greens and oolongs when it comes to tea.

I can't pick a favorite herbal tea; it all has to do with the mood of the moment! I mix my own. Some favorite ingredients include:

lemon grass, rose petals, hibiscus, catnip and other mints, rose hips, lemon verbena, lemon balm, chammomile, lavender...

yum!

12. Licorice tea
The first time I tried it, the box claimed it was ten times sweeter than sugar. I thought, "yeah, okay, let's see". Then I brewed a cup with nothing added and darned if it wasn't like drinking liquid candy. Very very sweet.

I also like ginger tea -- especially with ginger snaps -- and peppermint tea.

When I was a kid, my dad used to make iced tea with rosehip tea he got at a health food store.

15. Green tea is not an herbal tea, it's a regular tea
Put me down for lemon tea or mint/licorice tea when it comes to herbal.

Or Red Zinger.

Or TAZO Orange spicy something-or-other. YUM!!
