And now you're wondering why?
I had a huge crush on Scott Baio. Eww. My friend Mary Flood had a crush on Judith Light. And when she came out several years ago, I don't know why I was surprised. LOL I love ya Mary! LMAO

114. An old boyfriend like Karen Valentine too
and told me so after I told him how I would daydream at work when I worked at a sewing factory. I thought I would have a big estate with handsome male slave types to do my bidding...all fun of course...and have a couple of pet big cats and other assorted animals. I was in HS at the time. He got real mad (women aren't allowed to have those kinds of daydreams)and said how he thought KV was so hot, etc. I just laughed and said..."Oh, as if I could be jealous of her", and rolled my eyes.

25. creepiest theme song ever?
A new boy in the neighborhood
Lives downstairs and it is understood.
He’s there just to take good care of me,
Like he’s one of the family.

Charles in Charge
Of our days and our nights
Charles in Charge
Of our wrongs and our rights

And I sing, I want,
I want Charge in Charge of me.

Charles in Charge
Of our days and our nights
Charles in Charge
Of our wrongs and our rights

And I sing, I want,
I want Charles in Charge of me.

It was before she turned in to a poodle, and this was before I heard J-Lo was a bitch and before I became a brunette and in turn a brunette over blonde guy. See, I got smarter as my hair darkened, my brother is still a dumb shit and he's blonde, concidence, I think not. Oh and for the 80's, I hardly remember the 80's.

Bailey was played by Jan Smithers, who basically vanished from acting after WKRP (she was married to James Brolin for a time, and is now an artist living in Nova Scotia).

Since I only saw WKRP when I was in my 30s, I was way too old for crushes. However, I found myself often marvelling at the idiocy of the American viewing public that decided that Loni Anderson was the attractive one on that show...

95. Quite a crushworthy talent, too
I like her music, too; and I never knew that she was better known as a songwriter than a singer. She certainly hasn't been idle. I love Too Many Walls. But I'm just a sentimental old fool.

Her recent stuff was on Janet Jackson's Damita Jo. She also works with and writes for Sporty Spice, Britney Spears, and some good musicians, too (like Squeeze).

Here's two of the better sources of info I was able to find:

http://www.irresistiblecathy.com/
Be careful not to faint over the picture. There's also a fairly big page of news.

http://www.emimusicpub.com/worldwide/artist_profile/cathy-dennis_profile.html
From her music company.

126. Did you see her in Fitzwilly?
Fitzwilly was an hilarious Christmastime caper flick with Feldon and Dick Van Dyke. Van Dyke plays the house captain (the head butler) in the mansion of this charming old dowager (Dame Edith Evans) who's a very generous philanthropist. However, the money has run out, and Van Dyke and his crew pull off a series of heists to keep the household afloat.

The dowager hires Feldon to help her with her newest project, a dictionary organized by MIS-spellings. The introduction of a newcomer threatens to blow the cover of the scammers.

As you might expect, Barb and Dick fall in love, and then Dick and his crew pull off one last, glorious heist -- the robbery of Macy's on Christmas Eve.

It's out on video -- still only on VHS, but well worth the hassle of cleaning the heads on the old warhorse. Rent it -- along with The Ref -- this Christmas season.

He was so damned cute on "My Three Sons"

As for the Monkees, I had a big crush on Peter Tork.

HE was there on drug charges or something, and he said he was a really nice guy when he worked with him in the laundry. Of course he had a lot of mob guys too, and he said they were the nicest guys as well.

73. Me too. Everybody seemed to love Davy
so I chose Peter. My friend and I even wrote "please" over 200,000 times and asked them to come to our town for a concert. We just knew they were going to show up at our front door to meet us. They did, however, send us a letter with Mickey's signature (maybe).

And I was madly in love with Robbie on MTS.

119. I met her in the early '80s...
Her husband graduated from the same college I did, and they hosted an alumni association gathering at their (predictably spectacular) home in Beverly Hills.

Interestingly enough, she was introduced by her married name, and no mention was made of her "real" identity. Not having seen the show since I was a little kid, I only figured out who she was when I was on my way to the bathroom, and passed a second living room (I guess the house was big enough to have more than one) with one of her Emmys on the mantlepiece.

70. Bobby Sherman, Jesus and Ryan O'Neal
Bobby Sherman was the first - I had no freaking idea what sex was - just had a funny feeling when I looked at his picture.

That feeling was magnified years later in Catholic School by this one very sexy close up pic of Jesus, arms outstretched under some sort of red light.

But Ryan O'Neal distracted me from that blasphemy by appearing shirtless in What's Up Doc.

They're having a big reunion concert in LA on Sept 13 as a medical benefit for Bill Cowsill, the eldest son. I'd go if I had any vacation time left.

104. That's two of us
Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Susan Claire Cowsill:
http://www.robinrecords.com/cowsills/history/susan.html

She is one amazing rock chick! She never really went away; she played with Dwight Twilly for a while, covered Mohammed's Radio at 16, and has been part of the L.A. folk-rock scene from which the Bangles and Sheryl Crow came.

The Cowsills, of course, were one of the few examples of clean-cut acidheads. A family of acidheads (in spirit if not actually from familial LSD use).

She was married to dB's frontman Peter Holsapple for a while; she recently (re)married another member of the Continental Drifters, Russ Broussard. She frequently collaborates with Sheryl Crow and Vicki Peterson, now Vicki Peterson-Cowsill (she married John Cowsill, so that makes them related). Vicki and Susan had a band for a while, The Psycho Sisters.

She has a new album coming out ... I heard a track from it. It's beyond awesome. If there is any justice left in this universe, she will kick Britney's and Christina's skanky asses off the charts.

Time to re-activate that old Susie Cowsill crush, I guess ... :)

I can hear most of you shouting "Who???"

She played the blond neighbor in The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming who falls in love with the Soviet sailor. (I understand she also appeared in a few early Star Trek episodes, but retired from acting soon afterward -- probably got married and "settled down.")

I'm not quite sure why she had such an impact on me, aside from being the standard 60s "cute California Girl" archetype. It was probably just the right time of my life, just having turned ten, to get the first jolt of "JDW, meet hormones." ;-) In any event, I have occasionally mentioned her to guys around my own age, and, after having jogged their memory of which movie she was in, get a reaction along the lines of "Oh my God...I remember her, all right...")
