Taking a closer look at the War Medals of George W. Bush
American Star

I, like most people, figured that George W. Bush's American Star Medal was won for valor in the face of tremendous challenges. I had never heard of one before, so I just figured they were very rare.

When I took a closer look, I realized that the "medal" is actually an American fifty-cent coin pressed into a crinkled-up wad of gold foil. The foil appears to be from Rolo chocolate-covered caramels. The yellow star backing appears to have been made from the plastic top of a Planter's Mixed Nuts Can.

I was wondering about that.

Don't forget the pictures in which Captain Chimp is seen wearing his Epaulettes of Murka (Requires Strength - 19, Charisma - 17 with savings throw +1 against fire - damage 2d12). I believe the popular photo was taken after Captain Chimp jumped from his own p-51 Mustang and captured a Jap Zero mid-air, after the P-51 he was piloting had run out of fuel over Saudi Arabia. His landing of a captured Japanese Zero on the deck of the USS Murkagodfreedom, i imagine, wsa something to behold.

When the chimps were down, you could trust Captain Chimpy.

*edited to spell apaulettes all good like.
