I am a life long Giants fan who is boycotting them until they dump this twit. The arrogance of the whole Manning family is sickening. And, of course, that is only matched by the sheer stupidity of the Giants who gave away the farm to get this lemon!

Boy, do I ever gloat when I'm right!

1. Geez, he's young...
And he just got welcomed to the NFL. Was Simms brilliant in his early days?

2. I loathe him because of that crap his Daddy pulled in the draft....
....guess he's too damn good just to take his chances like everyone else.

Well, he's not. And there are quarterbacks who are good from the start.

If he and his family weren't so arrogant, and if the Giants weren't so stupid in giving him the world AND treating Kerry Collins so bad in the deal, I might give him a break. As it is, I ain't!

10. I'm sure you mean the team, not the city! SD is a great city!
Anyway, my beef is that they feel they're the only ones who can get away with that. They don't have to play by the rules like everyone else, and take their chances.

The year before--what's-his-name--the quarterback from USC who actually won the Heisman, went uncomplainingly to Cinncinnati. That's the way it works. ASnd it should work that way even if you are a sainted-fucking-Manning as well!

14. Carson Palmer is playing for the new Cincinnati Bengals that have a future
Palmer wasn't thrown to the wolves like Manning would've been in San Diego. Palmer was sat on the bench so he could learn the system. Right now as I speak there new quarterback Rivers is telling them to shove it because they're trying to throw him to the wolves.

3. I'm very sorry if Eli is wasting his career somewhere he isn't appreciated
I generally hate football, college and pro, but Archie Manning was such a class act that I couldn't help but be interested in him back in the 1960's. He played a masterful game on the college level-no one could touch him. His son, Peyton, played a helluva game too so I followed his career, even though he went to UT. Then Eli came along and was just as good as the both the others, and maybe even a little better.

I DESPISE televised sports but I've made an exception for these Manning guys for the last 40 years. They're the only reason I EVER watch a college or pro-game.

Obviously, I am not a serious football fan and you are, so I bow to your professional assessment... Still, I'm shocked at the depth of your contempt for both father and sons. Sorry you feel that way. They're all really nice people. I don't know their politics (don't really care) but they are class acts as human beings and I deeply respect them all as atheletes..

8. They certainly weren't class acts during the draft--Manning got booed
every time his name was mentioned people were so pissed off at their tactics.

I am also pissed at the Giants for what they did to Kerry Collins. They didn't have a quarterback problem, and Eli Manning is not some God who is going to rescue them--they paid through the nose thinking that he was. Big mistake.

I guarantee it. Big hype, big bucks, big letdown.

6. Give him time ...
... and if you've ever heard Peyton Manning speak, you'd know he's anything but arrogant. He's probably the most level headed quarterback out ther.

Give Eli a little time to fit in.

7. He was being a good father
Who the hell wants to play for a sorry ass organization of the San Diego Chargers? In fact the majority of NFL players pick and choose where they want to play based on good ownership. It was one preseason game and many Denver Bronco fans were saying the exact same thing about John Elway early on in his career that your saying now. Your far from right yet, you can't expect most QB's to have instant sucess, very few do. Most experts recommending sitting a QB out for his first year because the jump for College to the Pros is HUGE! You have to give him alot more then 14 passes to pass on this kid.

9. Did you see the draft? Maning got booed every time his name was
mentioned. I'm not the only one pissed at their arrogance. Why does Eli get the option that NO OTHER kid in the draft does--they have to take their chances.

I will agree with you about any quarterback needing more time. And actually, I doubt the Giants will give him time. They paid too much for him. Elway is from a different era--there wasn't the pressure to produce right away and kids had time to learn and mature. Nowadays, they don't give them time--they expect results right away, and too many get ruined right off.

11. so he's an arrogant asshole
isn't that kinda what you want in a QB? You think John Elway was a kindergarten teacher? no, he was a jerk of the highest order, but he could throw a football. Can you really blame Eli for using his leverage to get what he wanted? You're coming out of college and get offered a job with a company that is failing miserably, do you take it? the Chargers have only themselves to blame, look what they have to offer players, perhaps the best geographical location for a team, it's freakin paradise! You're close enough to LA to live that lifestyle (in their pay bracket) you have the best weather, the best real estate, the best golf courses, and you still can't attract players? people would rather play in Buffalo? or Green fucking Bay? Young rich black men want to live in Cincy? Eli was doing what he percieved was in his own best interests.

You cite Carson Palmer going to Cincy 'gladly' well sure, they'd just signed Marvin Lewis to coach and had anothe rQB to take the fall while he learned the ropes. In San Diego, Manning wouldn't have played long enough to get to free agency, it's where quarterbacks go to die, not to thrive.

13. The bears could use manning
and pass protection.
and a kicking team
and a defensive midfield.
and receivers who act less like the US Men's Basketball clowns and more like pro receivers.

damn, I see 4-12 here. You guys wanna trade manning for grossman? Even up? We'll throw in Alan Keyes for free.
