Not only does it hurt and looks as puffy as my mom did when she was carrying me inside herself 32.9 years ago, I've got a date tonight! x(

Is there a quick way I can pop this bugger? Or how do I make a hot compress that lasts for more than 30 seconds because I'm cheap?

1. try this, it works!

the stye originates in an eyelash 'hole'. pull out the offending lash/lashes. apply a clean warm compress and it should drain in short order.

2. This sounds weird but it works

An old folk remedy that has worked for me.

Just rub a little bacon fat in your eye. I know it sounds gross, but it seriously does work.

3. make a cup of any kind of black tea

take tea bag out of tea. allow the tea bag to cool enough so it's still warm, but comfortable. test heat of the tea bag on the inside of your wrist. once cool enough to the touch (lukewarm) apply to inflamed area of eye. the tannic acid in the tea helps to reduce inflammation. the warmth helps to draw out the offending piece of effluvia. repeat as often as necessary. remember to allow the tea bag to cool!
