Any suggestions for a good webcam?

Our son is in Japan for two years (Marines.) I have a Logitech webcam and we were able to use it last night and this morning but both times, my system crashed -- I actually had to do a hard boot to get it going again. A little late, I read in some reviews that there's a Windows XP compatibility problem. Other than that, it worked fine using MSN Messenger.

I have a laptop so I really need one that can clip to my screen. I prefer to spend $50 or less because I'd like to get one for each of our three daughters, too. None of them has a laptop, though, so I can get them a different model. I'm not sure if any of them has XP.

1. I have a Logitech camera...

and while I don't know about the XP problems, I had to go to their site and download the proper driver. The one on the enclosed disk didn't work!

So, try getting a new driver first.
