Poll question: Would you spend $300+ on a radar detector?
Best Buy can't sell them online, but they have one for $300 that can detect radar and laser from well over a mile away.

Is it worth the money or is it a wasted investment?

Thanks!

1. Radar Detectors pay for themselves.
I have the miles under my belt that prove that. I have driven a lot of miles in my days in the music business.

The best I have seen are the Valentine and the higher-end Bels.

3. How about Escort 7500? Also,
I had been told that the people who make it also make the radar guns for the cops.

Now I never intentionally speed, but sometimes I go faster than I should. :-(

4. They are OK. I suggest...
You google "radar detectors"+reviews. They are out there.

Next, as yourself this question: What does a speeding ticket really cost in your state. In NJ, it is brutal, with all of the costs and insurance surcharges and the increase in insurance premiums. Given that, a good radar detector is a bargain. No a lock against getting tickets, but a prudent move.

5. My last ticket was $125... more interestingly,
78 in 60 zone, though I could have argued I was doing 75 and going along with the flow of traffic.

Of course, when I try to go the speed limit, everyone else starts flashing their lights and honking horns and raising certain fingers and so on... :-(

2. An elk detector would be more worthwhile
as I see more of them than cars on my way to work.....
