9. Yup, those 5 file traders were far more dangerous than Al Quaeda
:eyes:

And if the companies who sell their music and such wouldn't fleece the public in the first damn place, there would be nowhere near as much 'pilfering'. Pilfer the pilfers, it's a victimless crime.

And, yes, I do buy music. I just bought "Abba - The Definitive Collection" and I'm glad I can make my own disc backup because I will not put original discs in the car and cry if they get stolen or destroyed. x(

2. There are so many better ways to fileshare now
Not to sound elitist, but Kazaa is pretty much amateurville.

Bit Torrent is really the best thing going.

If I do need p2p, DC++ is the only thing I use.

With DC++ it really helps if you have a lot of stuff to share. The more you share, the more access you have to better and better hubs.

6. It downloads little bits of a file from tons of people
it's great if you have 56k and want something big, like a game or album.

10. Anybody know a good Linux client?
I just nuked Windows off my computer, because I was tired of Trojan viruses and Outlook Express.

12. Because it sucks.
:D But mostly because a while back, the official Kazaa people cracked down on websites distributing K-Lite K++, which was a user-made hack of the Kazaa software but with major improvements (nice features and no spyware). It's what the vast majority of Kazaa users used, self included, but now it is very hard to find.

Honestly right now Kazaa is the choice of p2p newbies. All the savvy people are using eDonkey, DC++ or Bit Torrent. eDonkey is only doable if you have broadband because download queues are outrageously long a lot of the time.

Personally I still use K-Lite for downloading the odd song or music video, but for things like anime digisubs and TV show episodes Bit Torrent is totally the way to go and it's all I use.
