And Red Sox fans, do you believe? 4-1/2 back. This week is crucial--the beginning of September and we all know what happens in September! Plus--a series against Anaheim, and then Texas!

4. So that means we can ignore the playoff runs with Nomar?
I will NEVER forgive that little punk Epstein for trading Nomar. If the Red Sox win the WS, I'll be happy, but it will be more bitter than sweet for me. :cry:

5. I was originally of the mindset that Nomar was getting screwed;
however, for whatever reason, and I'm not saying who's to blame, Nomar apparently became a distraction to the team. They should have traded him during the off-season since they were talking about it so much and probably pissing him off. I think he's probably happier to be out of Boston after all that.

6. The whole thing was handled poorly all around ...
There was too much "St. Nomar" when he was in Boston, to be sure. But, he was the best Sox player since Yaz ... maybe even since old Ted. That said, he got a raw deal in the off season ... A-Rod? I mean, wtf? You have the best SS in baseball and you're gonna trade him for a man who is at best #3 at that position?

As it stands right now, obviously first base defense is better than it's been in many, many years. And the ruckus around the clubhouse seems to have died down. But ... I still put all of it on Theo's shoulders. I think it was an ego trip thing for him. It's not enough that he's the youngest GM in baseball--he had to take down a top player to show everyone around the league that he's *really* the boss, not just playing dress up.

Don't forget that the Sox had an outstanding start to the season, even with Nomar and the controversy still swirling.

7. True, but they've now caught on fire without him....he was one of my
favorite players, but regardless of who's at fault, the whole thing was handled poorly, and now that it's behind them, the Red Sox are smoking!

9. Cabrera is the bomb!
His average has gone up 140 pts in one month!

I'm really happy with the trade. Now... if we can just get our guys healthy!

Yankees Suck!
