For those of you bashing Laura Branigan--chew on this!

There's no accouting for taste in music, if there were, we'd all be listening to the same thing.

Regardless of the genre she came out of, Laura had an amazing, powerful voice. She wasn't my favorite artist, but whenever I heard her, I couldn't help but be impressed by that set of lungs. The girl could sing, and do so beautifully!

Rest in Peace Laura--you went too soon.

Post away if you want, but I ain't saying anything more!

1. Since this isn't a "let's mourn Laura" thread,

whcih out of respect I have ignored, let me say this: she wasn't so great.

Lots of range, blah blah blah, power in the voice, blah blah blah, but she was neither interesting now overly creative with it.

More so than, say, Whitney or Beyonce or Brittney or any of those truly talentless diva half-asses, but still overrated.

But be that as it may, 47 is too young to die, and I feel sorry for her and the family. It's an unfairly early age to die.

Not.

Anyway, Someone can suck as far as range, on-key or whatever and still be enjoyable.

People here seem to equate critiquing someones skills with the person.
It ain't the same thing. I know several Great opera singers but it will be a cold day in hell before I buy a CD by them.

On the other hand I like Fats Domino but is he a great Piano player?...No fuckin' way!
