I'm Computer Challenged
I am currently on AT&T dial up and LOVE IT. They are having a graet promo on high speed and am tempted to do it.

Question....SCREWING IN A LIGHT BULB is a major challenge...will I be able to install the modem or what ever the hell they send me to have high speed?

1. Probably..
Some ISPs send CDs with videos or slides giving visual/audio step by step instructions.

2. They might install it for you.
You probably could pay them; they might even have a free promo.

If not, it's easy. I did ours in maybe 10 minutes.

3. Yes you should.
Then the real trick is getting a good ISP. ( your internet service provider ) to walk you through setting it up. Just look at it as a series of proceedures.

7. I guess the density out where you are does not support competition
If you are happy with what you have, is there a compelling reason to upgrade?
Sounds expensive.

5. They will probably either hook it up for you or give you a kit with pretty
good instructions. If all else fails, there's tech support. If that fails, I bet if you think about it you have at least one geeky friend that can do it for you.

9. I would bet money (if I had any) that you can...
My mother changed over to broadband about two years ago and used the illustrated, step-by-step instructions that came with the package to get it done. I admit, I was on the phone with her the entire time, but that was just to calm her down. She gets stressed in situations like that and regardless of how smoothly things go, she assumes she's going to do it wrong.

She had no problems and she's quite the modern day Luddite :)
