1-9, with one being the worst and nine the best.

We are close. Although we do have some differences, they have always been there when I needed them and for that I am forever grateful.

With my Mom and Dad, a solid 9...
With my real mother and the rest of the family probably a 6 or 7.

2. I'm not really sure how you define family
Edited on Mon Aug-30-04 09:04 PM by Moonbeam_Starlight
do you mean extended family?

All I have is my husband and daughter and several really good friends whom we consider to be family (spend the holidays with them and everything).

But beyond that, no family. Oh except in-laws who live 1500 miles away and we haven't seen in five years.

So I clicked on the last choice.

4. Rating fluctuates. Depends upon what kind of mood Dad's in.

6. I live a ways away from my family
I have had issues with my parents since childhood. I don't see them too often and I rarely call but they don't call me either. Why do I always have to be the one to each out and to the adult (since I was a toddler)? My sister is busy with her life in Chicago. My grandfather died in June. I went to the funeral and wished that I had seen him more than I did the past few years. My grandparents cared for me, were good role models for me, and let me be a kid. I lost one and won't have the others forever either. All my aunts, uncles, and cousins live within a couple hours drive of the town where my grandparents live and my parents grew up. They continue to be a family. I am on the outside living a a few states away. I am alone here. My husband doesn't understand. His family was his parents and he with occaisional grandparent visits and his cousins are dispersed. Sometimes I wish that I wasn't alone here. I wasn't alone growing up even though I didn't feel that my parents cared for me. It was I who moved away though. Does anyone else feel that conflict and know what I am talking about?

8. right now, about a 5,
but after I tell them I'm voting for Kerry, it will probably be about 0. (mom & dad are both lifelong repubs, and they think *ush is doing a good job.)

9. reprehensor and I have a wonderful relationship.
And I adore my in-laws. They are the family I no longer have.

All I have left of my immediate family are my mom and my brother. (Fahter died when I was 13).

My brother skipped my wedding 4 years ago (adding insult to many other injuries), so we no longer speak.

My mother is stark raving nuts. Our relationship is hanging by a thread. I don't see it lasting many more years. She's a control freak, and has threatened to kill me. You do the math.

11. One of my brothers isn't speaking to me. With everyone else, it's a 9.
So I picked 8.
