Bush's "Rebounding" Economy Just Got My Neighbor Evicted
I was coming in and my neighbor who knows I love cats asked me if I wanted some. I laughed and said my husband would kill me (she has said the same thing before). Anyway, I come home today and she's moving out. It's the end of the month, so I didn't think anything of it. But I got a ring on the doorbell today and it was her asking for garbage bags. I asked if she was moving out or getting a new roommate or something and she said she was evicted. She started talking about how they were late by a week and she got evicted and how the landlord was so evil and mean. I met our landlord, I like her. I know she's only doing her job (big apartment complex, owned by a corporation) lest she find herself jobless and evicted. Anyway, I ended up taking her cats in. This lady has got three kids, herself and her husband. She couldn't pay her rent and here she is getting thrown out. I wasn't surprised the cats are malnourished. (Two cats, one is 8, Spotty and the other is 3, Hershey. Hershey weighs only five pounds). I fed them and put litter for them. I can't keep them but at least I can find them a good home so they don't end up on the street or put to sleep.

Rebounding economy my ass. I just keep thinking "There by the Grace of God go I and my family."

2. They found a place but...
As corporations tend to do, they're hunting them down. Apparently the landlord called their soon-to-be landlord and tried to get them evicted from there as well. I've never heard of that, but I guess the landlord is out to get her money by hook or by crook. The kids are staying with her family. I want to help more, but it's hard to offer help without being insulting. I can't believe it, I feel so bad. How close are we all to this being us?
