Ok.

It was my fourteenth birthday and it fell on Thanksgiving that year. We were at my grandmother's house eating turkey. I dressed up and did my hair and makeup like a 14 year old does, because I thought they were going to surprise me!

No mention of my birthday.

To make matters worse, a conversation that sprang up at the table was all about "who has a birthday coming up in December?" I kept waiting for them to say "And Moonbeam's is TODAY!" and look at me beaming and grinning, while someone came out from the kitchen with my surprise cake, but

no one

ever did.

My 14th birthday was completely forgotten by all involved. Except me. Cried myself to sleep that night.

Gosh, I don't know if that will make you feel better or worse! Happy Birthday, countfloyd!!!!
