Whee! A day at the wholesale nursery...
After 6 years of owning this place, I finally despaired of ever coming with a plan to actually DO something with my barren back yard. So I called an old friend who's a landscaper and we've started work on it.

He took me to a wholesale nursery today... WOW! First, the prices are unbelievable. About half or one third what you'd pay at a regular nursery.

We bought about 35 plants - vines, flowering plants, shrubberies, etc. This is just a start. He took down the names of all the other things I like that he thinks he can find cheaper.

He knows the name of EVERYTHING. He'd say "shall we go look at the coelocanths or whatever and I'd say "Ooh look! An orange flower!" He was very patient.

It'll be fun. He's gonna put in a brick patio and a little tiny pond and all sortsa bright happy flowers. yay!

1. Pipe in some great music, set up a comfy glider...
...and you'll have your own little slice of heaven, right here on Earth.

I'm almost jealous of your blank slate!

And lucky you having a friend in the business.. that will help so much. Perhaps you'd be willing post pics as things progress? :)

6. I doubt it
I really wanted some, but it's gonna be a very small pond and we have some serious raccoon problems around here. My neighbors have lost many fish to the 'coons. I think I'll just go with pretty plants. We saw a gorgeous papyrus today that would be beautiful in it.
