Spoke with some Repub friends tonight

at my daughter's volleyball match (our daughters are friends and I work with her mother). Grandpa, grandma and husband and wife are all big Republicans and they were all there attending. After a remark from dad about the Kerry girls getting booed at the MTV awards, I was questioned from grandpa if I was going to go home after the game to watch the RNC. So, I came back with the quickest thing I could think of, "Why? So I can watch the stepford wife?". Then dad looks at me condescendingly and says "hey now" like I'm low for making a dig! Ugh!

2. I just had an IM argument with a freeper

A friend from class asked me if I was going to join the College Republicans. I said no (and only no). Instead of dropping it, he proceeded to spew forth RW talking points on God and abortion. I'm a Christian who opposes abortion, but abortion is such a minor issue for me that it gets outweighed by other concerns. I told him that the republicans only care about life when it is still in the mother's womb, and that once it is born, they only care insomuch as it will be cannon fodder for iraqnam in 18 years. He got really nasty and eventually gave up as neither one of us would budge.

He knows I'm liberal; why did he provoke me like that? Most of the other fundies around here know that I'm not going to join the Campus Republikkkans, and they don't bother me that much. I don't know why this one did.

5. Although I haven't seen a representative of the

College Democrats, a college republican girl was pretty hot. Oh and apparently doesn't believe in underwear that is always cool.

4. Funny they don't mention that Bush daughters were appearing at

the same time via video. The crowd booed through their segment. Said it died down when it went back to just the Kerry daughters. There were standing ovations for the Kerry daughters too. Just another distortion of the facts. They don't know how to tell the truth.
