1. I think the Staples commercial has it right -
"It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year." At least that's the first line - it's a Christmas song.

2. I thought I would feel more sad
but he is in 3rd grade this year. Now I'm ready to rock before work sets in... I gave myself a few quiet days to have a little fun before I get back to REALITY.

and posts under miniluvamerica. she is starting Jr high today. she plastered her notebook with Kerry stickers and a few anti bush stickers. I told her she is definitely braver than I was at that age!!!

the kids at my son's small progressive school are very politically aware. It is heartening. Good for her. I had little or no clue about politics at that age.

19. Not only that
She's so activist and right-on in her lyrics. I love her.

:hi:

Oh this is funny... my 4 yo daughter is a music lover already. She sings all the time and asks me to play music on the computer for her. One frequent request is Take it to the Limit ... she sings along... it's too fucking cute!

Okay sorry ... had a mom moment there. All better now. :)

22. aw I like mom moments
it is interesting to me how complex our lives are as parents... so many roles to fill, with work, parenting, partner or spouse, friends (when you can fit them in), sports or hobbies (i do tai-chi and play drums occas.)politics, other activities and having alone time. Not sure how to fit them all in, at times.

18. well, actually, my son thinks
"mom's music is too loud. " How funny is that. And I am going through a punk phase after being sick of rock for a few years when I listened to nothing but jazz. Although he does like the Ramones, since they were in a Jimmy Neutron movie. And Capt Beefheart.

27. yeah mom needs to rock or punk out
since the child is nowhere to be seen. How are you Bunny? Are things better?

Montovani, eh. Yeah I guess I do need a mellow or easy listening component as well. Maybe someone with less raucous taste than mine will do a copy-cat. Or I can do a mellow jazz list, next. You can tell I have little work to do today, no?

but he is not here and I can play it really, really loud. And he doesn't like it too loud. It's also a paean to parental freedom. :)
