Here's more detailed info on dry ice if you still wanna do it. Do not keep it in the freezer - the freezer circulates air that will cause the ice to sublimate faster. Ideally, it needs to be kept in a styrofoam cooler. Do not use an Igloo (plastic) cooler because they have holes - sublimate faster.
If you purchase the ice today and expect it to last through the weekend, you'll need about 150 lbs which will cost anywhere from 80-100 bucks. That will fill up 3 very large coolers. It will gradually disappear over the course of a week.
Do not place food directly on ice - use a cardboard barrier.
