My beloved Daisy

This dog lived to be almost 20 years old. She was a mutt, but extremely smart. I miss the girl a lot. My Mom used to work midnights and Daisy knew not to bark while she was sleeping. I got her from the Humane Society in Chicago before I moved to Texas. The girl is waiting for me on the rainbow bridge.

Michael and I also had a collie-shepherd mix named Daisy who was a very special girl. She did not like us to be affectionate with each other, though-even a hug upset her deeply. We nicknamed her Sister Mary Daisy. I'm sure she's there too, wagging her tail and waiting for scraps of boiled chicken, which she adored. As soon as I put one on to cook, she would position herself by the stove to wait until it was ready.

You can never return one-tenth the love they give you, but still you try.
