I, LynneSin, do solemnly swear NOT to be moody again like I was today
Seriously, you want to know what's getting me down? I wish it was real stuff like this issue with my colon and trying to get enough damn fiber into my system. Or the fact that my cubical is in the noise pollution equivalent of a war zone. Or the fact that I may be baring my ass on DU (Matcom bet, the Red Sox are looking good the Phillies are not) and serving DUers Fine Tequila Dressed in a Bunny suit (the Will Pitt bet).

Here's what makes me pissy:

  1. People who make voting decisions not based on facts but on emotions. They would rather believe the sound bytes on TV instead of actually learning the facts and lately I seem to be surround by idiots like this and it scares me that Bush will win.
  2. People who vote for Bush because they hate Bill Clinton. Dudes, last time Bill Clinton ran for an office was in 1996. He is not running, a guy name John Kerry is. Just because you still haven't gotten over a damn Blue Dress and a man lying because he was trying to protect his family does NOT mean we should put the village idiot back into the White House. I've run into these folks today too and that scares the bejesus out of me with this election
  3. Freaking Christian Fundamentalists. Bush professes to praying (although we've never seen him do it), reading his bible (although he was quizzed on his bible knowledge and didn't know anything about it) and going to Church (something bush has not done since in the White House and yet Clinton went to a public Church all the time). What does freaking religion have to do with someone's qualifications of being a president. These people will vote for Bush based solely on a LIE that Bush is some kind of decent Christian and that if you want to be a decent Christian you have to vote for him. Last time I read my Bible, Jesus scoffed at this kind of ideology. Saying you're a Christian and actually doing Christian like works (which even the most hard-core Atheists will do) is 2 completely different things. I've run into these type of folks the last few days and it frightens me that people will vote based solely on this issue
  4. SwiftBoat Idiots and Purple Heart Band-aids - these things truly insult any man or woman who put on a US Military Uniform and served our country, like my Grandfather who spent a year in the South Pacific on a PT boat. How in God's name can anyone question a man who VOLUNTEERED for service in Vietnam when the guy who is running against found excuses to get out of that same war. I've run into these people the past few days and it bugs the shit out of me that they would vote based solely on this issue and not even bother once to find out what the candidates will do for their bank accounts, their jobs and their health.

This is the shit that is bugging me, but instead of admitting to it I bitch about the little things that annoy me like noise and fiber.

2. Your number 1 is why I think
sometimes we should completely do away with campaign ads and just have debates. Ads are designed for quick emotional responses and seem so manipulative.
