I just found out one of my friends died...
August 16. And they haven't determined a cause of death. He and I worked closely my first three years of college on the school paper. We worked late in the dungeon, that's what we called the dark room. God, we had so many great talks and he never failed to make me laugh and feel great about myself.
His name was Steven McLemore. He was wild and crazy. He was SWOSU's first ever homecoming king. He participated in a drag show for charity, and came in as first runner up. I hadn't see him in years, but I still thought about him a lot. Every time Every Morning comes on the radio, I crank it and remember dancing around the dark room with him. And Smashmouth All Star.
What makes this even weirder is that I had a dream about him not two weeks ago, where I saw him at the grill or something and we sat down and talked for a while. I don't remember what we talked about, but when I woke up I knew something had happened to him, but I blew it off because I thought I was just being silly.
I'll miss him, but I'll remember always how he helped me through my first three years of college with a lot of laughter and fun. I'll miss ya, Steve.

A good friend of my youth died about a year ago. I know that pain and grief is horrible. You have my best wishes in this difficult time.

5. It's kinda comforting that he did..
Because I think he knew I'd take it hard.

9. He must have been a true friend.
Something like that happened with my Dad.

The night he died I was hundred's of miles away.
When my sister called it just confirmation.

His spirit came to me to say goodbye, and I will forever hold that in my heart. Thank's Pop.

8. I'm so sorry...
 I've had that experience several times now...where I've suddenly had a thought of someone from out of the blue, only to learn later that they've moved on to the next dimension. I'm sorry for your loss.

11. Oh I'm sorry about your friend YRD
Even if we haven't seen someone in years, isn't it neat we still have some kinda unseen, unspoken connection with some people that come in and out of our lives. And even if we haven't kept in touch when we do find out they are gone, the world becomes a little lonelier knowing that special person no longer on it :-(

:grouphug:
Thanks for telling us about Steven. He sounds like he was a wise, wonderful and loving soul :-)
