7. Deland here
It's going to suck but I have to admit that part of me is excited about the experience (yes I have been through a few before). I guess I'm going to cancel my plans for a long weekend at the beach.

:-(

10. Oviedo Here !!! (Just east of Orlando).....
I was in Florida for Charley. Just lost some guttering on shed and a lemon tree.

Now I'm in Indiana where I'm caregiver for my 91yo mother.

All I can do is hope Frances turns far enough away from Fl and spares my house. Hope I don't have to make a trip back to Fl to clean up the mess.

:-( :scared:

Everyone visualize the hurricaine turning out to sea!!!!

12. I'm about as ready as I'm gonna be in Lakeland.
If I don't do any worse than I did with Charley I'll be OK. Only real loss I had was the food in the refrigerator with the power being out for a while. If it stays on the projected course it should roll through here late Saturday. Good luck to all others in Frances' path!!

My father and brother are in Lakeland, and they were thinking of joining me here in Gainesville... unless they got their info wrong, that should say something...

13. Inhabitant of Hogtown speaking

From the looks of it, it appears winds won't be much a worry unless you live in Brevard County and outlying areas.

As for reserving a hotel in Florida... are you sure that's a smart idea?

Either way, if it gets bad enough, I'm heading north. If it is very bad, I might hide with my family in NYC, but from the looks of it I'll most likely just sit it out and take a lil' swim through the UF campus

15. Wow
Memphis is in the large ring. I'm sure it would be a tropical storm at the most by that point, though.

I'm hoping that Francis makes an about face and goes out to sea, for our friends and family in Florida and the deep southeast. I can't believe they're under the gun again :(

20. My Mother-in-law lives in Port St. Lucie.
My husband was supposed to call her tonight from work. He's not home yet, but I know he was trying to get her and her husband to get out of the way. They're in their seventies and the type that won't let a little old storm drive them out of their home. He wanted to tell them that Francis isn't just some little storm.

22. I'm in Orlando, thinking of evacuating
Charley really gave my neighborhood a wallop, but my four huge oaks, though damaged, still stand. Maybe I won't be so lucky after this weekend. I went eleven days without power, and just don't think I can handle any more. I think I'll head up north to Atlanta VERY early Friday morning, then on to Ohio where my family lives. I'm taking the three cats, so motels will be hard to come by.
