Coolest Autographs You Own?

Not counting group citations signed by Roosevelt, Johnson and Reagan, I have autographs (personally acquired, NOT bought!)
from:

Cher
Pearl Bailey
Nancy Reagan
Liberace
Nancy Kulp
Donna Douglas
OJ Simpson (on the back of an unemployment form!!
David Hartman
Ruth Buzzi

among others... But my proudest possession is a program from the L-5 Society (a space exploration group) signed by:
Robert Heinlein
Jerry Pournelle
Larry Niven
Buzz Aldrin
Fred Haise
Dan Graham
Jack Coakley

and others!

I don't even know what such a thing is worth!

What famous autographs do y'all have?

1. Harry Truman.
He autographed his two-part biography for my grandparents from Missouri in the 1950's. My great uncle was very influential in local Democratic politics at the time.

These two books I treasure.

2. Al Gore
I'm not a collector
I've had signed books by Al Gore and also Dan Quayle.

I got both books at thrift stores.

Quayles autograph may be quite valuable as there is little extant proof that he can read and write.

16. a tennis player and 3 (classical) musicians
The late Arthur Ashe (first black man to win Wimbledon, and also a Grand Slam winner) was in town one day. I wanted to see him because one of his first teacher's children was my tennis teacher in high school (I was a lousy tennis player...)

Anyway, I wanted to find out what happened to this teacher so we had a pleasant conversation about the early black tennis players in the US. What an interesting history! I have an autographed photograph. Little did I know then he was already infected with AIDS, but I would have shaken his hand regardless.

A truly humble yet charming man, taken away from us too soon.

PDQ Bach (also known as Professor Peter Schickele). This was all too cool. He was the guest conductor at a concert. I found a PDQ Bach book at a garage sale -- of all places, and he gladly signed the book for me.

Branford Marsalis (Wynton's oldest brother) Got to talk with him after a symphony concert he was guest soloist. He told me all about his sax and how he had it modified to suit his playing. Got my CD and the concert program autographed.

Evelyn Glennie (Scottish percussionist). Evelyn Glennie is a percussionist you can't miss seeing in performance. She has been featured on 60 Minutes. She just happens to be deaf, but that has not ever been an obstacle in her outstanding performances. After her piece was completed, I was left thinking, "I want more". She was from Scotland and I asked her about some cities I visited. Got my CDs autographed.

19. Two kinds of autographs...
I was given a signed photo by Denise Crosby (I'm a Tasha Yar fan) by my daughters a few years back.

But the better ones are the ones personalized to me by

Lyndon Johnson and Jay North (any jokes on this pairing are welcome).

My latest one of this type is a present from my wife - Amy Wynn of Trading Spaces came to her school and she got Amy to write a note and sign a photo for me (women with power tools - Wow!).

Last summer I got one for my daughter (who is a huge Wizard of Oz and Judy G. fan) - from one of the Munchkins. She also has one from Wil Wheaton that he sent her after she wrote a letter to him (Wesley Crusher was her first love).

These may not be high on the cool scale, but they mean a lot to us because the people do (well, maybe not LBJ, whose Vietnam cheney-up ruined his whole civil rights legacy).

20. George McGovern and John Kerry
I met George McGovern when he came by local college stumping for Jim McGovern in the mid 90's.(no relation) I was very excited as I'd voted for him - and none of the kids knew who he was, they thought I was nuts!
