3. Not much hope she will turn.....
Only question is whether she will keep going NNW towards Melbourne or stay westerly towards Miami :( Stay safe Floridians.

5. My Mom is in Palm Beach Cty...she's leaving town this AM for her home
in North Carolina...She's afraid this will become a Cat 5 (vs the Cat 4 currently predicted). She figured she would just leave Florida, especially if it turns like Charley and they don't want to get caught.

She thinks this may be worse than Charley....Yikes....

8. They're calling it Charley with a temper!
My cousin in Palm Bay left tonight for a motel in Orlando. The news said it could go cat 5 very easily, she might have to drive north. She has her kitties in a travel cage, no shelters take animals :(

place...that's where my Mom normally heads, but not this time...

12. Good. I'm glad she's heading North.
I sure hope it doesn't come to New Orleans. We're VERY vulnerable here, surrounded by water with no escape since the higways West, North and South go over water. Even worse, the highway that goes North and West dips down to about 20 ft. below sea level, at one point under a train bridge. There is NO escape for hundreds of thousands of poor people or anyone who waits until it hits the coast.

The poor would need to leave by Friday, but with no place to go and with no means to get there.

20. It's going to be bad...and the eye of the storm is heading to their house.
They left for NC last night....they have a summer cabin there in Murphy. Mom's heartbroken leaving the house and afraid of what will happen, but she would rather "pace" in her cabin in the mountains than go to one of the few available hotel/motels in Florida not even knowing if it will hit there too....

Wow...I told Mom to leave two days ago when it was first starting to build...I told her I thought this one was going to be a CAT 5 and that another is going to follow...I told her I had a dream about it and her house would be okay, but her neighborhood decimated....My Mom knows my dreams, so she high tailed it out of there - Fast....

23. Any idea of where it will make landfall?
My Aunt lives near Daytona Beach. They've not told her to evacuate, but it looks like the storm is heading right for them! My FL geography isn't that great though...

24. No honey, that's not 2 AM Eastern time, it's Universal time.
Subtract 5 hours for Florida time. That makes it 4:45 PM.
