1. Hated...

...it when it was on the first time, no reason to watch it and hate it again...la

2. The first version was cheesy

I watched it the first time around because there wasn't a whole lot of sci fi on TV back in the day. So if you go for cheese, rock on! I prefer the second myself now that sci fi is more sophisticated.

Remember how Adama & Apollo (and the rest of the military) were ALWAYS right?

The civilian leadership was ALWAYS completely incompetent, either through venality, overweening idealism, or both?

And as much as I loved John Colicos, exactly what is Baltar's motivation, eh? Who does he intend to rule once the Cylons wipe everybody out?

Both series have their faults, but I liked the new version enough that I'll tune in to the new series when it starts in January.
