Warrant Issued For M*ther F*cker Who Dragged Donkey Behind ATV
<snip>

HUNTINGTON -- The dragging of a donkey behind an all-terrain vehicle in rural Cabell County has sparked an emotional outcry from people throughout the United States.

Meanwhile, authorities have issued a warrant for the arrest of Hurston Gue, 77, who lives on Bowen Creek Road in the Branchland area, regarding a misdemeanor charge of animal cruelty. Gue’s pet jenny (a female donkey) had to be euthanized Tuesday because of massive injuries to her haunches.

"We’ve been inundated with calls," Cabell County Sheriff Kim Wolfe said Wednesday. "One lady called in tears, and one man offered to buy it a cemetery plot."

Chief Deputy Jim Scheidler said the department also was flooded with calls from the local and national media, including a reporter in the Dayton, Ohio, area and representatives of United Press International.

The Herald-Dispatch received numerous e-mail messages regarding the story, which first was published in its Wednesday editions.

5. oh wait, misread
if the donkey actually belonged to her killer, there ain't much to do for it.

I do think there should be stronger penalties will this kind of willful cruelty. How well do you think this defendant treated his kids if he gets his sick thrills from killing a pet?

7. This is why I don't have a lot of faith in humanity
There are evil people out there and they aren't all in the Middle East.

8. here, in WA st a donkey called 'Posado' was beaten to death
by older teens (one, a policeman's kid) and it spurred people in this state to make this kind of treatment of animals a felony, with serious time attached to it.

that said, i am reminded of a judge hearing a case south of seattle, about an animal cruelty charge. The atmosphere in the courtroom was electric. People were seething, apoplectic over the crime. And rightfully so. But the judge took them to task and tore them a new one. Why? He had just tried a case in which a young woman had been kidnapped beaten, raped and otherwise tortured, for days, then thrown unconscious, into a dumpster. she did not die. The courtroom during her attacker's trial had been sparsely filled. He was wondering where they all were when she needed support.

let's hope the torture and subsequent death of this lovely sweet jenny spurs people in her state, and maybe further afield, to get crimes like this turned charged as felonies, with psychiatric treatment involved.

9. WTF was this guy's problem?
Some people really do make it hard to stay in a nonviolent frame of mind.
