We live in south Texas right now. Almost an armpit. What do you guys think of Toronto?

4. Just tell all the Torontonians you meet this -
'Why, yes, this is a world class city, and I'm sure this is the year for the Leafs. Definitely'.

And you'll be fine.

Alternatively, just live in Montreal and commute. It's only three hours each way.

5. Great city, but housing is super expensive
Public transportation kicks ass, city is clean and mostly safe, people are mostly friendly.

Some family friends moved there recently and spent $400,000 (US) for a tiny little house. Not as expensive as New York or San Francisco; probably on a par with Chicago or Seattle as far as housing costs.

6. Cheaper than Vancouver
but then BC stands for Bring Cash.

As a Vancouverite, it is almost law that I have to hate Toronto, but in truth, I hear it is a good place. Very cosmopolitan.

12. T.O isn't too bad...
it is 6.5 to 7 hours away from Montreal, however...and if you avoid the "Mega-City" proper, there are some good deals to be had on houses in Richmond Hill and Aurora...plus, it is close to the Muskokas and Georgian Bay...it has a nice climate, but I did not find the people to be too friendly when I lived there....just don't mention that you are American...;^(>

15. Southern Ontario has hot summers. Not as hot as Texas or course
But it's not the Arctic Circle either. Toronto is farther south than Minneapolis, and doesn't get nearly as cold.

My Favorite. I am jealous.Warning, many gorgeous people. Everyone has great clothes, wonderful haircuts and gets facials as a matter of course. I didn't see any slovenly people. It always made me feel self concious. I felt as though I lived in super model kingdom. They have great restuarants and are very cosmopoliton. And you can by wonderful clothes at thrift shops.A Lot are from television shows and model shoots! Have a great time.

and you are close (fairly close) to Stratford, Ontario, where you can see the best Shakespeare in North America.
