should I download service pac 2?

I know, I know, IE sucks - sorry I'm just slow and resistant to change.

I will get mozilla eventually. I just need a little advice/discussion. I haven't been on line or lurking much the last week or so and don't know if anybody has been talking about it.

Microsoft Service Pac 2. I heard there were problems. Should I go ahead and download? What were the problems, do any of you know?

The pop up blocker and firewall seem to work well.

have been installing on customer systems,

Doesn't seem to be compatible with Norton.

4. yes
It doesn't solve the problems it was promised to solve, but still: a system with is a lot better than one without.

Some programs have issues with SP2, in most cases bugs that went unnoticed without the SP2, but now cause problems.

5. So are the problems easily identifiable?
Also I have Norton - what is the problem? Dang I just renewed the subscription for that. I was thinking I should wait a couple months so they can fix some of it. I don't think I got the first service pac for like a year or more.....

6. hmmm, no problems here
Well, I guess I AM using a Mac, and have never had any problems with it, but I'd say sure, Microsoft wouldn't put out anything unless it had been thoroughly tested and compatible with all major software (ie. Norton)

8. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been testing it...
I do not recommend it.

I can't confirm if it wipes out the activation codes, but after installing SP2 all of my media settings vanished and every MS product (office, et al) asked me if I wanted to register (which I said "NO" to upon installing them initially.)

I've had other problems such as not being able to remove programs (Novell client) and lost a system after installing it.

They needed to test it more before releasing it, SP2 is a joke.

So is Longhorn, but at least they're not incorporating the new file system. (if FAT, FAT32, and NTFS proved themselves to be jokes, how bad is this "WinFS" anyway?)
