I need to vent

first I have to say that I apologize for my low post count, I'm a lurker. I don't post as much because I feel that there is no way that my post compared to many of the amazing DUer's on this board. now on to venting, Today I had my first discussion section for comparative politics, this kid, who is a hardcore Republican made fun of Kerry's Convention speech by saying all Kerry said was that he was in Vietnam for four months over and over again and how much better Bush's speech was. I didn't say anything to the kid, all i could do was mumble that the four months was Kerry's second tour to myself. Personally I think that kid didn't even watch Kerry's speech, because I watch the speech, and I know the truth, that the content was way more than his experience in Vietnam. Lastly I don't get why he was harping on Kerry for telling about his Vietnam experience, it was a very big part of his life. apparently republicans think war is some kind of big joke. thank you for reading.

because they have never went through one ... ok of course some of them have but today's Republicans would eventually chicken out and run if the draft was called out .

Thank you for welcoming me. The entire "only four months" meme is especially irritating to me. As i said earlier although I know Kerry served 2 tours, even if he did as the Republicans claim only served four months it's a hell of a lot more than AWOL Bush. four months in a war is a long time. Many men died in battle after a few months battle, and some didn't even survive that long, some were killed with in the first day or so. anytime in a war zone is a eternity to the men fighting

Don't be intimidated by other people with 1000+ posts, either. I've been known to do 110 posts in one day before (once to get over 100 and once to get out of the 700 ClubO8) ).
