Could we get skinner to set up a specific forum for freepers and us to get together and actually talk? Also the spewing of vitriol comes from the frustration and is actually a cry for help. A little soft talk and some negotiation can sometimes "talk them down" and turn a very bad situation. I am not a psychiatrist, but I am familiar with how this can work. Anybody here work on a suicide hotline?

I run a few boards, and I do lay down some basic rules.

I use ProBoards for my sites. They require some decorum. Though I did think of going with a board provider with virtual anarchy, but those kind of boards get pretty lame.

Bookmark it and stay tuned. I'll have some time to do something with it tomorrow. Should take about an hour or so to make it look pretty.

39. I tried to post a serious debate once in General Discussion,

and I got a lot of flames, saying it was a pointless article that only invited the freepers. :eyes: (the freepers merely referenced the post on their website and did their usual infantile brainless name calling, with the usual arrogance that they can do what they want regardless of consequences.)

I've been here for 2 years (changed my name a year ago).

I saw a question posed on a personal ad site and thought it was worth posting here because it sure as hell WAS a valid question.

Now I've seen General Discussion posts that truly ARE pointless and only once did I address the issue in a response.
