i can't imagine that ONE success, no matter how well orchestrated, would tide him over. however, with a complacent media who's been waiting for this story for three years...what do you all think will happen in the even of OBL's capture?

6. Osama Bin Laden is a mass murderer
who needs to be brought to justice. If he is indeed really caught, that is good news, but I seriously doubt if it would help bush a lot. Three years and 1000 or more lives later is just too late. And besides, it is unlikely that he is stupid enough to wander into American custody, and he seems to have a large network of Islamic fundamentalists who are perfectly willing to hide him forever if necessary.

11. You're being rational
Our spoon-fed sheeple are not rational in the sense of keeping up with this country's doings, and/or blindly believe what they are told. If not the 'sympathy factor'.

I hope * loses, but they won't let power go that easily.

16. Regardless
a lot of people hang out in the lounge to take a break from such topics, yet you have numerous political threads posted in here.

Here is a description of the Lounge:
This forum is for personal/social discussions, vanity posts, and all other *non-political* topics.

I think it would be nice if you posted your political threads in the appropriate forum. How's that for honest and blunt?

15. wonder what Albright and McDermott would think
if this happens

In a speech to business leaders in India, Rep. Jim McDermott, D-Wash., gave credence to a rumor that the U.S. has captured Osama bin Laden and for political reasons is waiting for the right moment to reveal it, according to the Indo-Asian News Service.

"There are already rumors circulating that Osama bin Laden is being held somewhere already and it's only that they are trying to decide what day they should bring him out," McDermott told Confederation of Indian Industry representatives at a luncheon in New Delhi on Thursday.

Former Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright echoed the bin Laden rumor, suggesting to Morton Kondracke of Fox News: "Do you suppose that the Bush administration has Osama bin Laden hidden away somewhere and will bring him out before the election?"

19. you'd think they'd be building up the audience more
in anticipation, if they indeed have bin Laden in cold storage.

They'd want to provide the best possible atmosphere for the triumphal capture-- and yes, it would be a huge Media EVENT. And too much of our populace seems very susceptible to this stuff-- it would give Bush a big lift.

I'm hoping the current lack of orchestration means they haven't got him.
