1. I'm near the West coast, but in the path of the eye...
Right now, gusting winds, we've gotten occassional rain, and there are small branches down in the backyard. They've ordered mandatory evacuations of mobile homes and low-lying areas in my county, Hillsborough, and in most of the coastal neighboring counties. On the local news they just reported sightings of tornadoes just east of Lakeland. They expect the eye wall to reach here tomorrow night. The electricity has gone off and on a couple of times, but all in all pretty quiet over here.

3. I live on the SE side of Lakeland. So far, so good.
I heard that about the tornado on the eleven o'clock news but haven't seen or heard anything violent yet. It's been windy and raining off and on since early this afternoon and slowly increasing in frequency and intensity. The projections show it will pass right over Lakeland. The forward movement has slowed down a little bit. By the time it gets here it will lose some of its strength and may even be downgraded to a tropical storm (I hope).

5. West Palm Beach
posted on other thread. Heard from friend (via daughter on cell phone as power went out at 9am) and they were taking a pounding this afternoon. Neighbor's roofs on each side were gone...and 24 more hours to go.

7. A pic of my backyard, the Wind is REALLY picking up:
This is overlooking the golf course from my lanai... the debris on the ground are branches from the oak tree on the left. In the background is an uprooted tree that you can't really make out... just beyond the screen is a small palm bending in the wind.
