3. Farscape is a superior Scifi show...

Cool muppets, dark plots. Good show once it gets its hooks in to you, so to speak.

5. Firefly was the best.
Hooray for the Firefly movie, Serenity!

Currently in post-production, scheduled to hit theaters April 22, 2005. Join the Browncoats and help make it a big success.

4. We're living it
"Night Watch" anyone?

Best Sci Fi series ever - by a large margin.

hands down.

Oh, there are some clunker episodes, but considering how many episodes were written by JMS, it's amazing that there weren't more of them.

BTW, I'm one of the people who have no complaints about season 5.

If you fans didn't know, the actor who played the Doctor died recently. JMS is working on a new Babylon 5 movie or series...it's not clear and he's not able to tell the details yet. The death of the actor has caused him to have to do a re-write, so it will be a bit longer before we know what exactly the new film or series is.

Also JMS was offered two different shows. And they aren't Trek like some people thought. We don't know much about that either.

His Dr.Strange miniseries is coming out soon, and if you aren't buying it, run out and get his Supreme Power tbps. It's his best comic work to date.

10. agreed. story line, characters reminded me of SF from the Golden Age
which was just placing humans in new technological situations where they worked out their problems, and by doing so provided insight into current human affairs. let's face it, humanity and humans (and some of the aliens)were not idealized on B5 as they are in most SF shows. there was a grittiness in B5 akin to blade runner

it helped that one guy wrote the all the scripts (or was it most of them?)....same reason early years X-files was so good too with chris carter writing.

had many a geek tell me how much they hated B5 the first year, that star trek NG was better....eventually, they came around.

back in the mid '60s dr. strange was my fave, next of course to nick fury and the howling commandos and captain america.

7. Babylon 5, Farscape, Firefly -- all great
There's too little decent sf on tv to play favorites. Any one of these would have gotten my vote for best when it was at its peak.

However, I've probably had most fun with Farscape (at least until it went all soap opera on us) and have more prime moments from it to replay in my mind's eye.

8. Farscape was good until they got into the "Death of the week"
cycle...and I seem to remember being turned off by lots of episodes in a row when they did nothing but run through the ship almost all episode.
