1. me!
my insomnia problem is simple, but somewhat illegal.

i just started college, so i don't exactly have a lot of extra money, especially since i'm not working as many hours.

but i'm used to smoking a little pot almost every night an hour or two before bedtime, and it'd put me to sleep like that.

however, not being able to afford any for two weeks now has allowed me to stay up until 3, 4, 5, and even 6 am on different occasions in the last 14 or so days.

*sigh* so is life

2. Me, thanks to my asshole neighbors
Unfortunately this is a yearly occurence around these parts. Brooklyn has a big West Indian Day Parade on Labor Day every year, and I live in a predominately Caribbean neighborhood, and it seems everyone wants to celebrate all. Fucking. Weekend.

BTW, this is one of the reasons I despise dancehall music. I'm sure it must have some musical merit, but when you hear it BLASTING at all hours of the night for three days straight, you tend to want to start killing people.

5. I know what you mean
Same reaction when I hear Mexican Music, after awhile it reminds me of carnival music.

7. What sucks about it
I mean, I'm normally a very nocturnal person so it's not the staying up all night that's the problem for me. It's the fact that I'm a nocturnal person because I like peace and quiet...I do 90% of my writing at night. And that's hard to do when you've got basslines and people screaming Jamaican slang words shaking your house. :argh:

I lived in Phoenix throughout the 90's; is Joe Arpaio still sherriff and crazy?

15. I was a bartender at a hotel...
where he was a speaker at a banquet; he ordered a drink from me. I considered turning my back and putting hot sauce in it, but i figured I'd end up at the bottom of the then-new Tempe Town Lake if I did so...

17. Hmm...maybe not such a good idea.
I'm glad he isn't MY sheriff--my permanent address is in Chicago and I go to college at Missouri.

16. I'm OK--I've been trolling on DU for the last couple weeks.

But it's been taking some time to get back into normal posting habits, and the other insomniacs are coming out later and later. Maybe I need to start doing the midnight insomniac threads again.

As for summer, I went to Hawaii, then I went to work, helping disabled people out at O'Hare (mostly by pushing them around in wheelchairs).

You might not care that much, but United Airlines replaced most, if not all, PHX-ORD service with Ted (low-fare subsidiary) flights. The Ted gates at ORD are pure evil, almost more so than bu$h*co. They are always a madhouse--three flights going out of one gate with only one agent to staff it.:crazy::crazy: I could never get the wheelchair through the Ted gate areas because they were SO DAMN CROWDED.:grr:

But I did get some $$$$ for school. It's a McJob, but sometimes the passengers are nice. I had four or five $20 tips this summer and that helps out A LOT.:bounce:

I can't wait for hockey season to begin. I just hope there is one.

How are you?

Edited to change emoticon

Further edit: I found the sign that I wore to protest Iraqnam the day after bu$h* started it when going through my stuff. One of my teachers was not very happy, here's a scan.
