5. I had bought the DVD set...
While I prefer movies of books to remain original to the book, PotA's changes are more believeable.

The Apes in the movie never got beyond 19th century tools. No combustible engine or other oil-sucking amenities. Whether by accident or desigm, it makes more sense that way.

I'm glad I just missed the Heston original. Blech.

I must say, it's the best ape-related series of movies I think I've ever seen.
