My sweet, dusty gray boy is giving me some serious loving.
He's head-butting me. When I pet him, he rubs his head against my fingers, saying "scratch me here, Mom, oh -- that's perfect..."

He's a gray tabby with ocher nose leather and a white face, bib, and paws. He's ten years old and has 8 lives left; he lost one while jumping in fear off the roof of a four-story building, hitting a tree with his face, and falling to the concrete below. He has a pink wart on his left front paw and a claw on the same paw that grows much faster than the others. He begs for supper at 4:00 PM if we're home and the instant we walk in the door if we go to work. He loathes the other cats but has been seen touching noses with them. At times, he plays like a kitten. He loves treats and his brother, Richard Nixon.

Harry Truman is his name, and he's the feline love of my life.

2. odd names for cats, I guess
they really only go by "Harry" and "Richard." Harry answers to Mary, Barry, Larry, Terry, Scary, Fairy, Jerry, strawberry, Carrie, dairy, nary . . . .

5. Oh, FY, we thoroughly spoil six of 'em -- and another five as much as
we can. They're our current clutter of ferals. Domino, Charley, Ringtail, and Ringtail's kittens Black and Tortie. (Many photos previously posted, of course.)

8. I'll do that for the indoor kids. How 'bout I give the ferals extra
treats for you? They don't want hugs & kisses. ;)

10. Canned tuna is reserved for that special trip to the vet. Snip snip!
It's what I use to bait the humane traps when I take the ferals to be spayed/neutered. I'm torn right now, though: Ringtail is pregnant again. I caught her once before, but her kittens were tiny and I couldn't take her away from them. Now I'm going to have to find someone to foster this litter, then get her spayed. But I worry about her kittens even now. I think they're old enough to take care of themselves, and they have a very safe den: under our small front porch. Still, I worry....

4. He's so beautiful!!!
I have been unable to post pics of my owner, Oops (so named when he fell off our very high deck as a youngster). Oops is solid gray with white paws and a white bib and lovely white lips - he weighs about 16 pounds, not an ounce of fat. He owns me and my hubby heart and soul.

7. Oops! sounds like a lean, mean purring machine.
Sorry. Couldn't help myself.
