It is OK, but I want it better.

Bush explained the problems with the Iraqi insurgents as being a product of our, "Catastrophic success." Playing into the strategy of your enemy is not success.

Iraq knew they could not fight us in a conventional war. Their best bet was to offer little resistance, collapsing into the cities, and into an urban guerrilla war. The Iraqi strategy is not to deliver a knockout blow, but to kill us with a thousand cuts.

Don't get me wrong, Bush's war has had some success. He has killed a lot of people, drained our treasury, enriched his contributors, and soiled our good name world wide.

The last paragraph seems to need work, but I like what it says.

1. A couple of minor things--
First, no comma after "our." Then maybe "playing into the strategy of your enemy may be a likely formula for catastrophe, but it is an unlikely one for success."

Then in the last line "Don't get me wrong, Bush's war has brought about some 'successful' catastrophes. He has..."

Please feel free to use any, all or none of my comments.

3. Thanks I am using your suggestions.
the comma is a bad habit.

I think "world wide" should be "worldwide."

2. Here's what I would say:
"He has killed a lot of people, drained our treasury, enriched his contributors, and soiled our good name world wide. " - The President calls this "catastrophic success". I just call it catastrophic.

4. M y tip (if I was writing it)
I find that Bush can use the two words in a descriptive form is ludicrous. It is either one or the other. You cannot have a success if you have a catastrophe. Where is the success? The phrase in itself is insulting to a free thinker and not the words that should be placed in our history books to reflect America. Would Mr. Bush describe himself the same way?
