Anybody ever been on the Georgetown Colorado Railroad?
I went on it today for the first time in years. It was quite fun. They said that they were closing it down after this season, but they are actually planning on having it open in 2005. Good since it is a piece of history.

1. Passed through last month
But did not have time to ride the train.

A new company has gotten the contract, but they will have to bring in new equipment.

2. No, but I've been on the Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad
It's definitely pretty cool. So, is the Goergetown RR closing down for good or just temporarily? I misunderstood your point.

4. For now it is not shutting down.
They are going to be open next year in 2005.

3. Georgetown loop is great
there's a movement against it by some of the locals because it fills the valley with smoke and soot when it goes by. That's understandable, but ahh, it's so cute! I'd hate to see it stop running; it's like visiting Willoughby (from the Twilight Zone episode, where the man takes a train into the idyllic old timey past) and it goes Choo Choo! And Chug Chug!

Gotta love it!
