I was out of town for 5 days. help fill me in on what's been going on

I was at a professional convention in Chicago for the last 5 days, which kept me pretty busy. I had only limited Internet access, and no DU. I only saw the news in fleeting moments--like your typical American. I do know about the hurricane, that Bill Clinton will have heart surgery, about the massacre in Russia, and that Baby Bush seems to have gotten a small bounce out of his coronat-, er, convention. Could any one of you be so kind as to fill me in on any news that has been going on in the world or here in the US that has not been covered by the corporate media.

I am also curious to know if the Freepers sent their best wishes to Bill Clinton. Did they wish for his death, or engage in conspiracy theories?

1. I've been in Canada for 4 days and don't know

about "the hurricane"..what happened?

I hadn't heard about Clinton and heart surgery?

I just know I got a lot of wonderful reactions to my Kerry/Edwards pin that I was wearing from our Candadian friends.
