Are you mocked for your paranoia about freepers messing with your car?
I have a Bumper Banner device, and I always take it off my car before I park it anywhere, because I'm paranoid about somebody keying my car, etc. My wife mocks me for this all the time, but after everything I've heard on here, I feel completely justified in my actions. Are any of you mocked for your paranoia about having your car damaged due to having anti-Right materials affixed to it?

1. Not anymore
See my earlier post.
No damage done, but I still am wary.

2. You shouldn't because Freepers do screw with your car
I've had dents and soda sprayed on my car. Don't shop at WalMart.

3. I drive an old car. I have a plan if someone keys it...
BIG arrows and signs saying "this is what some Bush loving lunatic did -- Vote SANITY -- Vote KERRY." If the worst thing that happens is my car gets keyed and we WIN the election, I can live with the sacrifice. (Do you have insurance? I know the deductible would bite, but still...) :)

4. What's a Bumper Banner?
I put bumper stickers on a magnetic backing, so I can easily remove them if I park in a "questionable" (i.e., Republican-heavy) area.

9. This...

You can change stickers, etc. in and out. Kind of like your solution, but I couldn't find any magnetic backing strong enough. They also have some stuff they've created themselves.

5. I think you are being smart
where I live now, I don't have that problem-but I park in a private lot at work, and it is really out of the way. Haven't had any problem at the grocery stores, either. But if you lived in a large city, I could see where you'd have a problem. It makes sense to me that you be cautious.

6. I'm not mocked, but I am definitely concerned about getting my car
beat up by right wing republicans because I have the Kerry-Edwards sticker on it. Hell, I am even a bit concerned about travelling in some parts of the south (AL, MS, OK, KS) with PA tags on my car.

7. They busted out one of my car windows and tore down my Kerry signs.
So I don't think it's paranoia.

8. My father was afraid...
somebody would ram my car when I put my pro choice sticker on it a few years ago, but nothing has happened. When I took it in for inspection I saw the guy inspecting it look at the sticker and then at me. He said nothing, but his look appeared to be one of pure respect.

11. paranoia
I want people to know how I stand. I'm not afaid of my positions.
And if I have my 85 lb chow-lab moose with me, nobody will mess with my truck. One idiot tried to break in once, the police had to take him to the hospital on the way to jail.

12. My feeling - It's just a car...
I have insurance, although the deductible is high, but I actually don't care if it gets keyed. This is the first time I have ever put bumper stickers on my car. This year, my priorities have changed and (this may sound weird) the bumper stickers are more valuable to me that the car.
