7. Awww, come on!
It's just poached ground fish. If it were lips & assholes like franks or bologna, I could see calling it "vile." Now schav - THAT stuff's vile!

Also - my Yiddish has become way rusty in the many years since my grandma passed away. Menshlechykaytm?

A total waste of perfectly good fish. Get ya a fry pan, and some cook'n oil and some of your favorite coating mix and you've got some good eats. Don't need no fish soaked in lye.

And I'm part Scandahoovian too. Give me Kringla, you keep the Lutefisk.

3. Actually, if you
buy the gefilte fish that comes in a frozen roll, cover it with BBQ sauce, and cook at 350 for 1 1/2 hours, it really is very good.

5. Basically, yeah...
Among Eastern-European Jews, gefilte fish is the traditional fish appetizer served on the Sabbath, the New Year, and Passover. Originally the ground fish mixture was actually put back into the skin of the fish for cooking, giving rise to the name "filled" or gefilte fish.

Traditionally was made with carp, but in the US salmon, white fish and other types of fish are substituted.

And it's actually not THAT bad when all is said and done, if its prepared correctly.
