I have to go to the dentist to have a tooth pulled tomorrow, and I've had severe panic attacks before, so this time they gave me enough valium for tonight and tomorrow morning.

I'm one happy puppy!

3. Is that normal dentistry practice?

Because I haven't been in years due to gagging anxiety. Is there a special procedure to get these meds or did you just ask?

and if you don't have an asshole for a dentist they'll help you out.

If you have gagging anxiety also make sure you get nitrous.

4. I only had it once when I was in pain

After I settled down a little, then they gave me morphine. Then I was really out of it and may have actually gone to sleep.
I have Aprazalam (Xanax) to take if I get panic attacks. I try not to take them, if I don't need to, because they are more impairing than a normal amount of pot I would smoke or 3 alcoholic drinks. My mother-in-law is addicted to that drug, with the full enabling of her doctor, and I don't want that to happen to me. Minor tranquilizers are relaxing though.

I had a colonoscopy a couple of years ago and my procto -- believe it or not but his name is Dr. Kram -- doped me up to the point he could have stuck it up my you-know-what and I wouldn't have cared. Oh, yeah, he did stick it up my you-know-what. I forgot. (I wonder if anyone will now run to their local phone book to look up the name Dr. Kram?)
