Faced fear today...
Ever since I broke my tibia and fibula at my knee two years ago by running the 2-seater go-kart off of a bridge and into a creek, I haven't been able to even look at the monster. The break was bad--required surgery, screws, and about three months off of my feet to recuperate.

Today, I pulled it out of the shed, tinkered on it and got it running, and my kid and I have been riding all day.

How's that for overcoming fear? :-)

1. "Fear is the mindkiller"
Just open your eyes and look steadily at it and suddenly it doesn't seem quite so intimidating, does it?

3. Well, I have to be honest...
We didn't go near the bridge this time. It's a small bridge without any rails on our property, and I don't think we'll be riding across it.

But, no, the cart isn't intimidating. And we had lots of fun today. Can't believe I've let it sit in the shed for the past two years just because I was afraid of it. :-)

2. Excellent!
Some things need to be faced. You riding with your kid shows you remember the fun you had with it and want to share it with your kid.

Shine on.

4. LOL! Your sig image is too funny!
Actually, I ballsed myself up enough to let my son drive. He's tall enough now to drive. We took it really slowly at first, but he did fine.

He said that today was like Christmas all over again. :-)

5. Heading out now to the Mexican restaurant to cap off a wonderfully
fun day. Will be back later, if anyone responds.

Happy Labor Day, DUers! :toast:
