question about an insect (katydid?)

it looks similar to a katydid except it's got much less of a leaf like appearance on it's body. the body is a pale green, and it's hind legs at the very ends fan out into what look like tiny leaves (this is what is stumping me, i can't find a picture of this anywhere.) it appears to be laying eggs (flat and brown in rows) on my window screen!

ps. it's about an inch long.

it's larger than a stink bug and is slender and long, shaped like a grasshopper or cricket.

3. Grasshopper or katydid of another variety

Sounds like a kind of grasshopper to me-katydids and grasshoppers are closely related anyway, and there's a lot of morphological variation in the insect world.

i think it's just a weird variety of katydid. i wish i could find the exact name though!
