Either leave or ask questions. These blanket statements about how everybody is rude or that we have no big mission in life or don't sell cookies to coworkers and everybody on the block are pretentious and pedantic.

I know it's a BBS/USENET tradition for some people to loudly wail as they leave w/ posts like that, it accomplishes nothong and makes them look silly.

DU is not one person or entity. It's a community of thousands. I don't think anyone here likes everyone or is liked by everyone. We have have inadvertently (or even not so inadvertently) managed to piss someone off or be pissed off at someone one time or another. So what? You get over it or you whine and bail.
