Anybody in Vero Beach, Florida?

My wife's grandmother lives there, and she, rather than evacuate, holed up with a couple of other elderly women somewhere, and nobody has heard from her since.

My wife is worried, since the eye of the storm passed right over Vero Beach.

Anybody heard any news about that area? How it fared?

1. Did you check the local newspapers?

You might want to check out the discussion forums at the Vero Beach newspaper (see below). I've also been following the local forums in the FloridaToday newspaper, although that is in Brevard county.

Side note: My business partner's house is in Melbourne Beach and they've got reports that their house is still standing... looks like no windows broken... just a "jacked up" awning, according to the 16yo kid that rode out the storm and is checking out the neighborhood.
