7. Joey, Dee Dee, and Sid are
And Johnny Ramone is battling prostate cancer :(

If the fight had taken place in 1977, The Pistols would have won easily because Sid was always hitting people upside the head with his bass. Hey, what the Hell, it's not as though he had to keep it in tune or anything.

6. Ha! Just listened to "Never Mind the Bullocks" today....
The Pistols had the attitude on and off the stage...they would have mopped the floor with them.

8. The Pistols should bow down.
Their appearance at the Roundhouse in London, England, on July 4, 1976 galvanized the UK punk rock scene, directly inspiring future punk stars including members of The Clash and The Sex Pistols

9. sex pistols?
give me a break, those no-talent ass clowns couldn't hold a candle to the Ramones, not even in a fight.

Johnny would show up with a weapon, first off, and so would Dee Dee. Marky would be too drunk to feel anything, but not drunk enough to be ineffective, the benefits of being an alcoholic. Joey would use his microphone stand to lay the Pistols to waste by himself.

The Pistols on the other hand...

Rotten would get the hell beat out of him cause he's an unimpressive imbecile and drunk, but not alcoholic like Marky or Dee Dee. Sid would just die if they looked at him cause he'd be on heroin, now I know the argument "well Dee Dee would be on junk too!!" True! But Dee Dee's habit lasted longer, thus making him tougher. You don't like that logic? I'm not entirely satisfied with it myself, but still.

Alright, enough, Ramones win cause they were a better more enduring band.

11. The Ramones were a "more enduring band" because they were...
willing to ride their one trick pony on a much longer uninterrupted journey. Christ! I'm a 'Murican, can't believe I'm defending the limeys over the bruddas. But I am :)
The Pistols rocked
The Ramones popped

13. actually if you read your punk "history"
bands like the Clash and the Pistols were very influenced by the Ramones. I don't really know if the "who would win in fight" criterion is the best way to judge this. I myself prefer the politics of the Clash and the Pistols to some extent, but the Ramones were very influential. Read Hey Hey Let's Go, The Story of the Ramones, by Everett True, for an interesting perspective. It opened my eyes; they were much more complex on some level than they appeared. ( and I saw them numerous times.) :)

15. Saw them play a 30 minute set in 77, it was brilliant...
saw them play a 70 minute set in 82, they may as well have been punching a time clock

I am well aware that The Ramones "influenced" the Pistols just as The Bay City Rollers influenced The Ramones, however I would never argue that those tartan-clad twits were the better band. Sometimes the antecedent is not the best.

14. I witnessed Dee Dee punch out their drummer once, glass jaw....
had to stop the show for 20 minutes to revive him (Tampa). I also witnessed Joey knock himself out while trying to slam down his microphone stand, it slipped and he went chin first onto the stage (Houston). Stayed down for 5 minutes while the band finished the song (well continued the 2 1/2 minute song.)

So I'll vote Sex Pistols. :silly:
