Survived my trip to Freeperland
Now I'm back in my home blue state of Connecticut. It was a frightening culture shock going to North Carolina - people were re-arranging their work schedules so they could hear * on Rush Limbaugh last week.

I had to refrain from gagging when they complained about the "librul media" and the Clinton News Network or they talked in worshipful tones about Reagan & Arnold or how the Democratic party has moved way to the left since the days of Humphrey. Hmm, I thought the party has moved way to the Right, and the Republicans have moved radically farther to the Right since then. But, I guess you can get that impression if you drink the Limbaugh & Faux News Kool Aid)

(I was very tempted to jab them with Arnold being to the left of Bill Clinton because Arnie was for gay marriage and Clinton was not, but I thought better of it being surrounded by 6 Freepers.)

4. Burlington, NC
So, not too far from Greensboro. I couldn't even go to the furniture stores in High Point last week for my wife because they all close at 5:00.

5. Yeah - close enough.
Yeah, they close nice and early because they know that none of the locals can afford to buy any of their furniture, so why stay open after they all get off work?

I feel like I need a shower after I go to that part of the state...
