Better yet, how many innocents were arrested, held, and finally discharged without any charges being filed? Did we reach police state levels? I wasn't there, so i cannot speculate.

New Yorkers are experienced in advising tourists. We may not always give accurate directions, but we do give the directions we BELIEVE are accurate.

Most Republicans were so frightened by the pre-publicity, they only asked cops for directions. Cops were everywhere.

In most instances, the cops were laid back and well-behaved. Bored, mostly.

No one was killed. None of the injuries were life-threatening. The people who were arrested may well have a lawsuit and god knows there were enough lawyers among them to take care of it.

Other protestors walked freely and happily thru the city and enjoyed days of marching and nights of parties. There were events scheduled everywhere.

The people most hurt were the small merchants and restauranteurs. Some of them may have received a mortal blow.

But you never once considered that, did you?

2. why the anger?

I did not raise the prospect, I only was asking for an update.
it's not like I created the scare mongering that blue haired gram would be set upon by wild tatooed evil gangs of New Yorkers, waiting behind alleys, trucks and big hairy policemen, wanting to pounce on all things GOP.

The GOP painted that picture. For their own purposes, I am sure.

As for the small merchants, etc, if a crowd descends upon NYNY, should the locals continue to imbibe, shop, frequent and keep them going? I think so. But you seem to suggest that it did not happen.
